Bonsall West’s Guiding Principles
The Bonsall West Learning Community is committed to the following observable and measurable behaviors:
1. We will prove that literacy is our top priority by providing explicit and extensive reading and writing instruction across the curriculum.
2. We will use pre, post, and cooperative ongoing assessments with multiple measures to drive our instructional decisions.
3. We will model the character traits that we expect of our students and will consistently follow through with positive reinforcement and corrective consequences in order to foster strong social and emotional development.
4. We will consistently collaborate as educators to develop instructional strategies to enhance the academic growth of each child.
5. We will proactively work to recruit and utilize our community’s resources to help augment Bonsall West’s instructional programs.
6. We will systematically and explicitly communicate with individual parents and students concerning each student’s academic and social-emotional progress.
7. We will utilize and maintain Bonsall West’s extensive technological resources to promote higher learning.
8. We will act as a professional learning community in order to elevate student learning by increasing our intellectual, social, and technological skills through professional development, collaborative leadership, and a consistent study of current educational research.
