Jon Ray, Principal
Born and raised in Northern California, Mr. Jon Ray has served in California's public school system for 16 years. During that time, he has held the positions of coach, classroom teacher, Vice Principal, Principal, and Superintendent/Principal. Jon assumed the position of Principal, Bonsall West Elementary in July, 2010.
As a coach, Jon had the honor of coaching 3 championship teams in two different sports, basketball and football. As a classroom teacher, Jon was twice named “Teacher of the Year”. As an administrator, he received the “Outstanding Young Educator Award”; was recipient of “Best Business Practices in Government Award” from the Lions Club.
Jon attended Junior College at College of the Siskiyous and transferred to CSU, Sacramento where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Social Science. After pursuing a career as a commodities broker, Jon decided to go back to school to earn his teaching credential and finally, earned a Masters in Administration from National University, Sacramento.
Jon has recently relocated to Oceanside. He enjoys being involved with his two elementary aged kids, surfing, reading, golf, genealogy, and scuba diving, as well as spending as much time as possible with his oldest son who is a Marine Recon.
